There are different styles and fits of condoms that will look different once placed on the penis. Flare condoms are wider over the head of the penis, form-fitting condoms are tighter and make an indent shape over the head, while regular condoms are straight and looser on both sides. Chances are you have air trapped in the shaft because you’re using a flared- or regular-fitting condom.
The size of your penis will also play a role in how the condom fits, but unless you’re buying the XL variety of prophylactics, your condom of choice should be doing the job, air pockets and all.
